What you will learn
This course is for people who already know makeup basics. You learn to set up, use and clean an airbrush machine, build an HD base, and change one bride into several looks on the same day. You practise on classmates and live models in our Madhusudan Nagar studio, and we confirm on WhatsApp whether you are ready to join.
- Parts of the machine: compressor, hose, gun, needle and nozzle
- Setting the air pressure for base, blush and body work
- Holding the gun, distance from the face and trigger control
- Water-based and silicone-based airbrush products, and which skin each suits
- Cleaning the gun fully after every client and fixing a blocked nozzle
- Skin prep that keeps the base thin and smooth in close-up
- Building coverage in light layers instead of one heavy coat
- Spot concealing pigmentation and dark circles without a patchy look
- Setting the base so it does not flash white under camera lights
- Checking skin on a phone camera and under a ring light before the photographer starts
- Primers and setting steps for heat, sweat and long rituals
- Waterproof eyes and lashes that hold up better through tears
- Lip colour that stays longer through eating and photos, and how to touch it up
- Matching face, neck, hands and arms so the bride looks one tone
- A small touch-up plan the bride's family can follow on the day
- Planning the order of looks with the bride before the day
- Moving from a soft ritual look to full Odia bridal
- Changing to a reception look without removing the base
- Changing the eye, lip and hairstyle quickly between functions
- Keeping the skin fresh across many hours of changes
- Working back from the muhurta to fix a start time
- Splitting work between the lead artist and assistants

A typical class day
- 1
The trainer shows the day's technique on a model, with the airbrush machine or HD products, and explains each setting
- 2
You practise the same step on a classmate, with the trainer checking your distance, pressure and blending
- 3
On model days, you do a full bridal look on a live model, sometimes with a change to a second look
- 4
The trainer checks your finished work on camera and in person and shows what to fix
- 5
You photograph your work in good light for your portfolio
- 6
You strip and clean the airbrush gun and your station before you leave
