What you will learn
This course adds cutting, colour, hair spa and scalp care to your styling. You practise on real hair in a small batch, with the trainer beside you. You also learn to check the hair and plan each service before you start.
- Asking the right questions before any service
- Reading hair type, thickness, length and past chemical work
- Checking the scalp for dryness, dandruff, cuts or irritation
- Telling the client honestly what will and will not work
- Writing a simple client record card
- Holding the comb and scissors correctly
- Sectioning, wetting and combing hair before a cut
- Straight-line trim and removing split ends
- Basic layers and face-framing front pieces
- Checking balance on both sides before finishing
- Blow-dry, curls and waves with heat protection
- Bridal buns with padding and fresh flowers
- Braided and half-up styles for engagement and reception
- Setting hair jewellery, dupatta pins and accessories so they hold
- Party styles for open and tied hair
- How hair colour works, in simple terms
- Patch test on the skin before colour, every time
- Strand test to check the result on a small piece of hair
- Root touch-up and global colour application
- Sectioning and timing so colour comes out even
- Shampoo and conditioning at the wash basin
- Hair spa steps: cleanse, massage, mask and steam
- Head and scalp massage done gently and evenly
- Choosing a treatment for dry, oily or frizzy hair
- Simple aftercare advice for the client at home

The trainer shows the day's skill on a model and explains each step and why it matters.

You talk to your model first, check the hair and scalp, and plan the service.

You practise the skill on a classmate or a live model, with the trainer checking your sections, timing and hand position.

The trainer gives feedback, and you redo the parts that need work.

You photograph your finished work for your practice portfolio.
- 6
You wash and put away your tools, clean the basin and tidy your station.
